Istarel Brucker joined Woodman in 2020 as Legal Counsel and became Head of Legal and Compliance in 2021. In the following year, she was appointed to Woodman's Executive Committee as General Counsel. In 2023, her responsibilities were further expanded to include oversight of Human Resources.

Before joining Woodman, Istarel worked as a lawyer in the Legal, Compliance and Regulatory department of EY Zurich, where she advised global financial and insurance companies with respect to banking and financial market law as well as conducted regulatory audits of various financial intermediaries. Her prior experience includes positions in the Litigation and M&A teams of a Zurich-based law firm and in-house legal work in the legal department of Julius Bär in Zurich.

She obtained her law degrees from the University of Fribourg (I. Ue.) and King's College London.
