Kazim Mohamed Ali
Chief Operating Officer
Executive Committee Member
"As a lawyer by training I tend to think a lot about what could go wrong in a transaction or process. On the other hand, I am also a passionate entrepreneur with an urge to get things done pragmatically. Combining the entrepreneurial spirit and a can-do attitude while ensuring things are done in a compliantand process-oriented way is challenging but can be very rewarding if done correctly. At Woodman, I am motivated by this combination, which enables us to achieve an enormously high level of effectiveness and professionalism."
Kazim began his career in finance at Credit Suisse’s Alternative Investment Legal Team, covering Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Insurance Linked Strategies and Energy Infrastructure Investments where he gained in-depth knowledge of alternative investments and helped to structure various funds. He then became the Head of Legal and Compliance at BlueOrchard (an impact investment firm), where he helped launch, inter alia, a Private Equity Impact Fund and worked on a UCITS Impact Bond Fund. Immediately prior to joining Woodman, Kazim worked as Legal Counsel at UBS Investment Bank covering Structured Products – gaining valuable experience in investment banking. Kazim joined Woodman in April 2019 as General Counsel and in March 2021 transitioned into the role of Chief Operating Officer.
Kazim studied law at University of Zurich and King’s College London and passed the Bar Exam in Zurich.
